Obama vs. McCain: Howard Stern Shows that Many Ignorantly Support Obama

I’m not a fan of radio shock jock Howard Stern; however, the audio clip below contains a segment from his show that is very telling about some American voters. It demonstrates, in part, how a radical liberal like Barack Obama could end up in the White House based largely on personality and cosmetic factors instead of weighty issues like policy and what is best for the country. It shows how personality ignorantly trumps policy in many people’s minds.

In this audio clip, Obama supporters were asked why they liked Obama and given several choices using John McCain’s policy positions (like support for the war in Iraq and being pro-life) and even listing Sarah Palin as Obama’s VP choice. The respondents unflinchingly endorsed the McCain positions and Sarah Palin as they espoused their support for Obama. Mind-boggling and depressing at the same time!

Note: Special thanks to Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters for this piece. In fairness, I’m sure you could find a similar group of lazy voters supporting McCain. Regardless of political party, this kind of ignorance should not be tolerated and is dangerous for our country. Think, people, think! We’re voting for a President, not a celebrity talking head.

  1. I agree that it should not be any opinion or race but of the heart of the voter regardless of color. Our country is in a bad place. I wouldn’t vote for an italian just becasue he’s an italian, I would vote for his beliefs and I am italian so why should any color or race impact on choices of voting? Our country encourages people to vote and should educate them on what they are voting for. OHIO is a disgrace and what was done and violates our civil rights as American citizens. It should be an example and results in unclear explanations and situations like these that Howard brought up. I think Howard opened some eyes and my opinion of him just went up.

  2. LOL. Its the point I have been making to all the Obama supporters… They dont know what they are doing or who they voting for during this election. Most of them have no Idea why they support him. They hear words like change and wealth along with the fact they dont want the U.S. in this war because of what they see being “spun” on CNN. They dont see the change coming in a socialistic fashion with a taste of one world seasoning. They voted out of fear.

  3. John McCain might have been a good US President but the people in the US does not need another Republican, that is why he lost in the election. Obama perfectly states the need of the people in his campaign slogan and that is “change we can”.
